I can't tell any difference between ACDSee, LR and C1 insofar I can get results out of all three that are indistinguishable from each other. Is there a problem with the ACDSee RAW converter engine? I just read through the message thread and no one indicated they rely on ACDSee for RAW conversion. I will switch but I feel they are TOO NAIVE or BASIC today to properly compete In a few years time when these are mature enough.

  • A number of alternatives that I am testing.

I bought the Box licence V6 as it's TODAY the ONLY option with a lot of MATURITY & FREE PRESETS (all over the internet) I am at the same time a new user and future ex-user of Adobe Lightroom. Export directly to Facebook has already stopped working and won't be fixed by Adobe.Īfter nearly 10 years with Lightroom myself, I'm planning to move to something else that will get future upgrades. The Map module has already stopped working and won't be fixed by Adobe. It won't get support for any new cameras unless you starting doing DNG conversion before bringing into LR (and that assumes the DNG converter doesn't get upgraded beyond LR6's capabilities at some point). It won't ever get any new editing features. I'm a bit surprised to see someone choosing a dead-end product (LR6) for their future editing workflow. now DxO and Capture OneĬan you describe how your workflow works from import of a whole shoot through to finished editing them?Īre you developing the RAW in LR and then converting to TIFF/JPEG and then using Affinity and ACDSee on the TIFF/JPEG copies? The reason I'm asking is that no other program can render Lightroom adjusted RAWs unless you export them to some other baked format like TIFF or JPEG so I don't understand how you view edits in ACDsee without the file conversion? Other RAW converters are asking too much $$$ esp.

Thx allĪCDsee for DAM (Box licence), Adobe Lightroom V6 (Box licence) for RAW conversion and Affinity Photo (Box licence) for Retouching… Looking forward to constructive criticism.

Is this valid? Is this too cumbersome? Trying to make good use of the current BLACK FRIDAY deals and am considering this setup.
